About Us - UAMA
The United American Muslim Association (UAMA) was founded on May 29th, 1980, with a singular purpose: to provide lasting solutions for the spiritual and educational needs of Muslims across North America. Rooted in the principles of Ahli-Sunnah Wa’l-Jamaah, our mission is to nurture Muslims who are a benefit — to themselves, their families, their communities, and all of humanity. Whether or not a person has had access to formal Islamic education, we believe every Muslim deserves the opportunity to grow in knowledge and faith. We offer an exceptional Islamic education, a welcoming house of worship, and a platform for meaningful charity — all in one community.
Donate to us
Your generous donations help us continue to provide essential services to the community and support the work of our islamic teacher.
Sadqa
Sadqa is a voluntary act of charity given out of compassion, love, friendship, religious duty, or generosity, rooted in islam beliefs and teachings. It is a way to support those in need and gain spiritual rewards. Your Sadqa contributions help us fund community programs, support needy families, and maintain our facilities as part of our mission as a center for islamic teachings and community development. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference.
UAMA Support
Donations made directly to the UAMA help cover the operational costs of running our facilities and programs. This includes maintaining prayer spaces, classrooms, event halls, and administrative offices. As a trusted islamic center of america, your support ensures we continue providing a safe, welcoming, and functional space for the community to gather, learn, and worship in line with islam beliefs and teachings.
Zakat
Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and a mandatory act of charity based on islam beliefs and teachings. It is calculated as a fixed percentage (usually 2.5%) of accumulated wealth and distributed to those eligible, such as the poor, the needy, and those in debt. Your Zakat contributions are handled with care and distributed according to Islamic guidelines, reflecting the values upheld by islamic services of america.
Nafilah Qurbani
Nafilah Qurbani is a voluntary sacrifice offered by Muslims as an act of devotion, gratitude, and compassion beyond the obligatory Qurbani. It may be performed at any time of the year with the intention of seeking closeness to Allah and helping those in need. The purpose of Nafilah Qurbani is to earn spiritual reward while providing nutritious meat to families experiencing hardship, in accordance with Islamic values and teachings. Donating your Nafilah Qurbani through UAMA ensures responsible distribution through a trusted center for Islamic teachings and community development.
